So its May all of a sudden and our amazing peonies have shown their brilliance already and with no mow may the lawn is akin to a jungle but the bees and bugs love it so it stays jungle like and wild meadow like a little longer .I digress , last Thursday I was invited to perform in coventry in front of a 200 plus audience , a show which was supposed to happen pre xmas but postponed due to that dreaded bug coronavirus So along with several other great persons we re enacted our xmas themed pieces; well I did seeing as i had written some for the occasion It was a fun and entertaining event One piece naturally had a reference to Coventry City as i assisted in co writing the music for the single when Cov city played and went on to win the FA cup my reward was a coveted Blue Peter Badge which i proudly wear to this day
Then on Saturday ventured to Stafford to the literary festival organised by Mel , the present Stafford poet laureate The morning session was good fun reading from my novel ‘now you’re the artist….deal with it’ the section where the life model screams on seeing a rat .It was a pet gerbil and she ended up on the toilet seat screaming like maniac hence the front cover
The afternoons session was in the library for the children and light poetry So I read a section from ‘Wilhemena and her wind’ which went down well Then the lovely Wanda, a fellow member of New Street authors read from her monsters stories about a frog and a tortoise Then sadly at 4 pm the library ushered us out as they had closed so we couldnt say hi to parents and children or sign any books H
